The People behind Neighbors

The Executive Board

Mostafa Abu Roomi - (Chairman) an architect and urban Planner from Tamra, a former member of the Arab-Jewish Center for Economic Development, he manages large-scale public building projects as well as town planning in the Arab sector.
Amiram Goldin - engineer, M.A. in public administration. His past positions include strategic planning and management of employment programs for rural areas in the southern region of Israel, director of a project to create a joint Arab-Jewish industrial zone, and director of an employment project for Gaza Strip evacuees. Founder and former Co-Director of Neighbors, he currently runs the northern office of Shatil - the New Israel Fund’s empowerment and training center.
Ali Abu Salach - an architect and urban and regional planner from Sachnin and former member of the Sachnin Municipal Council. He is the engineer for the Kaukab Local Council, project director for the Galil Bilingual Jewish-Arab School and a member of its parents' committee.
Daniel Kahana - an architect and urban and regional planner from Manof with offices in the Teradion Industrial Zone, he specializes in private and public building projects, urban and regional planning, and is a lecturer at the Technion- Israel Institute of Technology. Daniel Kahana's website
Albert Andria - a traffic and transportation engineer from Nazareth who works both from Nazareth and Tel Aviv.
Daphna Nevo - an architect, urban planner, and mediator from Yaad. Daphna has vast experience in both the Arab and Jewish sectors.
  

The Staff

Naim Daoud (Co-Director) - resident of Abu-Snan, has a Master's degree in geography and environmental planning from HaifaUniversity and is a graduate of the Environmental Fellows Program at the HeschelCenterfor Environmental Learning and Leadership in Tel Aviv. He has professional experience in environmental research and development in the Israeli Arab sector.
Tovi Alfandari (Co-Director) - an urban and regional planner, strategic planner, organizational consultant, and facilitator in multi-cultural dialogue workshops. His expertise includes strategic planning in a variety of regions, urban, rural, Jewish and Arab, social planning and demographic models, and inclusion of the public in planning. He coordinated the Israel 2020 project at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, which successfully redefined planning principles on a national level, and created and runs Plannersnet, an internet site for Israeli planners. Michal Belikoff (Project Manager) - former board member, is an urban and regional planner. Her expertise includes coordinating research teams; working with government offices on furthering development plans, writing policy papers, reports and surveys, and developing data-bases.
Dafna Ben-Baruch (Project Manager) - a doctorate student in Bedouin planning at Haifa University. Dafna is coordinating the Sachnin Conference to be held in the upcoming spring.
Tamar Meisel (Fundraiser) - a life coach and human resources consultant. Tamar is a native English speaker who lives in Karmiel. She is responsible for English and Hebrew materials for Neighbors.
 

Members (partial listing)

Sami Saadi - economist and accountant, with a private accounting office in Arrabe since 1995. He has undergone training in monitoring municipal budgets and mediation, and provides accounting services to individuals, companies, non-profit organizations, and financial institutions, including the Israeli Arab Theater.
Yaakov Peretz - from Kamon, architect and urban planner
Yochai Koren - from Yodfat, landscape architect
Doron Rohatin - from Yaad, architect and urban planner, partner in Yaad Architects –Landscape and Urban Planning, he specializes in city, town and regional planning, with an emphasis on plans for open areas, rural villages and planning in the Arab sector.

Tarik Boshnak - from Kfar Manda, lawyer
Hanna Livne - from Yaad, Landscape Architect
